Bill's Story and Purpose
Bill Hallum was an avid golf player, a skillful fisher, and the most enjoyable of people with his contagious smile and laugh. A studious undergraduate at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and a former student at Shelbyville Central High School, Bill was loved by all he came in contact with.
Bill lost his battle with his addiction February 26th, 2022, but he didn’t go down without a fight. Having confronted his addiction at the end of 2021, Bill attended rehab for three weeks at the beginning of 2022, where he learned more about himself and his addiction. One of Bill’s newfound goals was to help others combating addiction, and through one of Bill’s favorite sports – being golf – we hope to further Bill’s vision for Bill’s sake and for others experiencing the same challenges.
All proceeds from the Bill Hallum Memorial Tournament will go to Not One More and Drug Rescue to "mobilize support, educate, and inspire those impacted by the disease of addiction."
